“Raised in the U.S by poor immigrant parents, I never understood why my mom was pale and my dad was brown even though they were both Mexican. When I learned about our native history and colonization in college, I finally understood. I decided to dedicate my life to learning about, sharing, and celebrating my indigenous roots so other Mexican children can grow up proud of who they are, with artwork that celebrates their native ancestry.”
